La secolare tradizione delle “Buchette del vino”, tipicamente fiorentine, sbarca a New York. Nel cuore della City, Tom Harris, presidente della Times Square Alliance, insieme allo chef Jack Logue e a Chris Miller, il duo del Lambs Club del Chatwal Hotel, e’ ora possibile vivere uno splendido “ritorno al passato” e immergersi nella vita del XVII secolo quando la nobiliare tradizione era normalita’.
Le buchette non erano altro che piccole finestre con caratteristiche aperture a forma di arco, situate nei muri dei palazzi storici di Firenze, principalmente al piano terra. Questi finestrelle spesso decorate con cornici in pietra, venivano usate in passato per vendere vino direttamente ai passanti, senza la necessità di entrare nei locali.
Ora, se passate per Times Square, specie se siete italiani, non potete che aggiungere un ulteriore “wow” ai regali che New York concede.

The centuries-old tradition of the typically Florentine “Buchette del vino” lands in New York City. In the heart of the City, Tom Harris, president of the Times Square Alliance, along with Chef Jack Logue and Chris Miller, the duo of the Lambs Club at the Chatwal Hotel, it is now possible to experience a splendid “throwback” and immerse oneself in 17th-century life when the aristocratic tradition was normal.
The buchette were nothing more than small windows with characteristic arched openings located in the walls of Florence’s historic palaces, mainly on the ground floor. These little windows, often decorated with stone frames, were used in the past to sell wine directly to passersby, without the need to enter the premises.
